Episode Fourteen: Capturing the Coast Road

After a brief hiatus, the Norfolk Heritage Centre podcast is back with a new episode. This week, Archive Specialist Chris Tracy is in conversation with local photographer David Indge about his recent photographic exhibition Coast Road.

We were lucky enough to host Coast Road at Norfolk Heritage Centre throughout February this year. David travelled the entire length of the the 85-mile A149 Coast Road, linking King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth, to capture on his camera snapshots of the people and places connected by the north Norfolk route.

“It’s a road of contrast in terms of landscape and the people and places I have visited along the way. Each photo represents a moment in time. There were certain subjects I knew I needed to cover and people that I felt represented the communities along this road – for example, the ambulance crew at Potter Heigham. Others were chance encounters along the way.”

David is planning to publish a book of 149 photos from the A149 and to potentially show his photography at venues along the A149.

See below for links for more information on the exhibition. We hope you enjoy this episode and thanks for listening!
